Windows XP file recovery software is not necessarily unique

While many data recovery companies would have you believe that XP file recovery differs from vista file recovery or data recovery on any computer using any other version of windows, this is completely untrue. Windows file recovery and in particular XP file recovery is dependent upon scanning through your computer’s hard drive. In the history of windows there have only been two file systems used for storage. These are the FAT and NTFS systems. Since the year 2000, only the NTFS has been used. So unless your computer is a total dinosaur, any quality data recovery program should be able to find and rescue your damaged or deleted files. The reason many data recovery companies claim that you must have a version specific file recovery program is simply so that they can sell more programs. In fact all that they are doing is relabeling the same program with different names. When you see data recovery programs with names such as instant file recovery, or windows file recovery or NTFS file recovery you should be aware that these are virtually identical programs. Any quality data recovery program will be able to retrieve deleted files from your computer’s hard drive, compact flash drives, and any external digital storage device connected to your computer.
